New Build Country House, Derbyshire

Image
We seem to get the best weather every time we have a site visit at our new build country house in Derbyshire. The steels for the rest of the the ground floor have been positioned to give you a real sense of how big this house actually is! The harlequin hedge is looking beautiful in the sunlight. We have detailed the retaining wall to step down in 2 tiers for flower beds. The gardener is going to have real fun in this area of the garden.

New Build Country House - August

Image
The new build country house in Nottinghamshire is progressing nicely. Some more scaffolding has been taken away revealing more of the stunning eastern gable. The conservatory stone is complete, the roof lantern is in position and the leadwork is in progress. We can't wait for the scaffolding around this area to be dropped, and the glazing to be fitted to see the finished article. Internally on the first floor, the  windows, architraves and skirtings are being fitted. It is at this point during the project when all the hard work and detail starts to pay off. The new country build house is due for completion before the end of the year. Come back soon to see our progress in September.

This photo of the pediment at roof level has been taken from a scaffolding platform. This view of the stonework detailing will never be seen this close again as the scaffolding is removed. At least we have this photo to remind us... Construction of the conservatory is on going and the stone masons from Croft are carefully measuring and working the stone to fit the semicircular design. The detailing on the stonework needs to be precise to ensure that the finished conservatory is
