A short update on Alex McIntyre Architects New Build Country House in Nottinghamshire this week. The building is progressing at a fast rate and every week it is surprising how much has changed. The works are still focused around the lower ground floor and putting in the concrete retaining walls and basement waterproofing. The shutters are set up and left for days while the concrete is set, before being moved onto the next section of wall. Sample walls have been built so that we can get the specification of the mortar just right. Though you may not be able to see it in the photo below, the mortar used in the left hand panel has a more reddish tint. After consultation in the Alex McIntyre architects office, we decided the paler colour would compliment the brick and stonework better. Visit us again next week for more photos of all our onsite projects.
