New Staircase - Bespoke House Derbyshire
This week saw the delivery of the main bespoke staircase at our new build house project in Derbyshire.
The elliptical bespoke staircase is a design by Alex McIntyre Architects and expertly hand built by Winchcombe Farm Designs Ltd at their workshop in Berkshire.
The bespoke staircase is 3 stories tall and elliptical in shape. There is a octagonal roof light that floods the stairwell and ground floor entrance with natural light.
The elliptical shape gives the on site joiners a challenge when it comes to plastering the underside of the stair. To get a perfect finish, they batten from the stair treads and stud from string to string.
