Ground Source Heat Pump

The Ground Source Heat Pump installation is underway at our New Build Country House project in Nottinghamshire.

We are working with Nottingham based Carbon Legacy to install the ground source heat pump. The technology works by using pipes buried below the ground level (See image below) to extract heat from the ground. The pipes then pass through a heat exchanger before being pumped around the house to radiators and under floor heating systems.

On our site in Nottinghamshire, the trenches have been dug in a field next to the house and the coils of pipework are being lowered into the ground. The next stage will be to fill in the trenches and connect the system back to the heat exchanger and pump located in the boiler room of the house.
