Swimming Pool Ceiling - Derbyshire

The swimming pool ceiling in Alex McIntyre Architects new build house in Derbyshire is now complete.  See our previous update for more photos of the installation and more information on how the ceiling works and click read more below for more photos of the completed room.

The stretch ceiling can provide a variety of lighting effects in to the room. The stretched membrane conceals the LED strip lights, which are white in the center and colour changing around the border to create the effects you can see below.

When the concealed LEDs are off, the ceiling looks white a contemporary to blend into the rest of the roof space.

The lighting is switched by the Control 4 system which means that the clients can use a mobile phone app to change the lighting mood in the swimming pool, as you can see in the photos below.

The swimming pool ceiling runs neatly into the top of the glazing, through which you can see the natural light  flooding in to the gym from the Rafterline rooflight. The quality of the final building is down to the vision at sketch scheme and the detail of the drawings at tender stage, that we always strive to achieve at Alex McIntyre Architects.

Over the next few days the swimming pool will be filled and we will be taking photos of the whole of the completed house, so please visit again.
