New Build House Derbyshire - Lighting

The lights are on at our new build house in Derbyshire! This is always an exciting stage in any project and really does help the house come to life. See what you think in the images below:

In this project we have used Orluna plaster in style light fittings. These come with a special jigsaw fitting which is plastered into the ceiling and matched to the paint colour. This means fittings disappear into the ceiling while the lights are off.

Often, lights are simply stuck in the ceiling in a grid pattern to light the room, rather than to highlight architectural features. On this new build house in Derbyshire, we have located lights in dormers, to pick up architraves around doors and windows, and also to highlights areas of the wall selected for artwork.

Bathroom lighting needs special consideration. We want to highlight features of the room, but also provide functional light in front basins, in showers and above the bath. In this room the shower enjoys a larger over head skylight which will be beautiful in the day time.
